Special Olympics' Polar Plunge

I had the privilege of attending the Special Olympics' Polar Plunge because I have friends who teach in Special Education Classrooms plunging! They invited me to come and take pictures.... As you well know I can't pass an opportunity like that, so I went! It was totally a blast! I really would love to go every year but as I learned from some of the other many photographers and parents just wanting to get some pics of their kids.... This year was particularly good so we'll have to see if this becomes a regular thing for me! :D Anyway I'm rambling.... I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Barlow Girl/Superchic[k] Tour. I talked to my people(Natalie Barlow) and they were able to get me an All Access Pass so I could get some sweet pics! The show was amazing and thanks to Ross Dettman for allowing me to borrow his 85mm f1.8 with which I was able to get these pics....

Cait Elizabeth

Everyone say "hi" to Cait Elizabeth! Cait is an amazing photographer living in North Carolina's Charlotte area and I'm happy to say she's my friend! I may have to correct myself on that one because she's actually more like a little sister to me... I met her while on a photoshoot with the great Sarah Barlow and after only one meeting (and lots of FaceBook chats and texts) I was invited to her home.... Her mom is the one who actually invited me to stay and thought it would be a great surprise for Cait's 18th Birthday! I'm not gonna lie.... that was a BLAST! Anyway she's a super talented photog and an amazing woman of God so give her site and blog a look and enjoy the pics!

Vegas.... Day before WPPI

Day before WPPI I arrived in Vegas.... Teresa Burton her Daughter Christi and Cait Elizabeth came to pick me up from the airport. we went back to the resort and dropped my bags. Cait, Christi and I couldn't wait to start shooting so we went out on the pool deck and just "did our thing".... We wandered around the resort just doing mini photoshoots so that's where the first pics are from.... then we went to Red Rock Canyon which is about a 45 min ride outside Vegas. Ugh that place is amazing! So the cool rock formations that you'll see are from there... We just had a blast I seriously can't wait till next year!

Out to lunch

I went out to lunch today with my family and some friends... We went to the always delicious Flat Top Grill (a must have for anyone who likes to try new things). I brought my camera (as usual) and snagged a couple shots.... :-P

So my "day job" is installing gutters and because it's stinkin' cold now in Chicago I can't do it!!! That is sad news but it leads me to the good news.... I can focus on my poor neglected photography blogs and all other things photographic! Yay!!!! I'm super happy about this as I'm sure you can imagine and thus this post... these are a few shots of me that I thought I'd share with y'all to get things rolling.....

Mother's Day Flowers

So I went out this year and got the most expensive, most beauitful, biggest bouquet of flowers (in a vase) I could muster for my mom. (Actually I had it made by this really cool flower shop close to my house.) I figured she has been my mom for 25 years now so I needed to do something extra special and this is what I got...

The Expanse

This is a picture of my brother when we went to Colorado. As you can see from the picture he is standing on the side of a mountain over looking the vally with the mountains around and a really cool lake in the middle. This day was totally perfect so we just had to get this shot. What I love about this shot is... well everything but I really like the expanse of it all. Just the grandeur of what God has made and the absolute beauty of His creation. I love the clouds over-shaddowing the vally and the color. That's all. :-)

this is just an update on the website.... You might be thinking what
website....... well it's coming along. And that's about all I can say.
OK so I can say a little more than that....I actually DO have a site
and the address is jedgarphotography.com but as you can see if you went to the link it's not ready. I've been
meaning to post about this sooner but as it is I don't even have the
thing functional yet so when that takes place I'll post again.

The story goes..... I know nothing about how to make a website so I'm having my awesome friend Mark Collins do the logistics for me (He's totally awesome for doing this BTW). I picked
out the pics and I'll write all the bio and pricing but he's doing the
cool stuff like slide shows and over all presentation. He also has a
album design business and is a great photographer. Anyway he's the bomb! (I know we don't really use that expression any more but you'll just have to excuse me because it's true). so that's my story about the site.

I really like the chess ones... The one of the EXIT sign is cool because I played with the colors (at least to me it's cool). :-P

My Favorite!

This is like my all time favorite pic. I took this at a baptism my church was holding. This butterfly was just sitting there on the end of the rope. I got really close (I was using my 18-55 lens) to it and it still didn't fly away I was amazed and then out of nowhere it just took off. I got the pic though ;-)

Anyway I like it.

First paying gig!
